My name is Panos and I come from Greece where I used to work as a graphic designer. There is nothing special about me. I am just an ordinary person like everyone else, with an endless to-do list, chasing my craziest dreams and trying to have a balanced life at the same time.
My main desire is to keep surprising myself by experimenting with different mediums and techniques. Although I feel more confident creating my art digitally, I usually bring it to life by using different printing techniques, on different surfaces, depending on the subject of the artwork. So far I have concentrated on screen printing, as I was already fascinated by it before I came to the Netherlands. However, my to-do list is full of new challenges, some of which I may find fascinating. I might end up laser engraving leaves or becoming a professional snow globe maker.
My art is born from my experiences of urban life. Although most of my daily influences come from grey shades, I prefer to translate them into colourful and playful to show a brighter side of the world. Smiley faces hide the reality of decrepit faces. Pigeons, which I usually use as characters in my designs, represent the ability to fly away from the concrete daily routine. The end result is a brief escape from reality.
Looking ahead, I hope I am still surprised when I look back.
